District Court Judge William Bertelsman relied on that law in his ruling that temporarily halted Beshear's mask mandate, saying Beshear broke the law when he issued an executive order because the legislature was not involved. One of the challenged laws said Beshear's executive orders could last only 30 days unless renewed by the legislature.
